why.
I joined this project to work on problems that only appear at scale. It was a chance to move beyond designing features and focus on the systems that shape how teams build and ship experiences.

As TD Easy Trade was refreshed for new business goals and a younger audience, teams had no clear guidance on how to work with the existing global design system. It was unclear what to reuse, adopt, or rebuild, slowing early decisions.
strategy.
The lack of clear guidance on when and why to leverage existing components caused confusion during design work and slowed the overall process. To address this, I defined a clear component leverage framework that compared purpose vs effort across 3 categories, working closely with stakeholders to align decisions. This structure reduced ambiguity and doubled the speed of design decision-making.
results.
The refreshed onboarding reduces cognitive load, removes unnecessary funnels, and guides users through the process with clear structure and visual cues, making the experience easier to understand and more confident to complete.
